Keeping an open mind to Anime
As I discovered Anime during the covid pandemic years, I kept an open mind to different series. I did not want to miss out on a great series due to perception from online posts. I was excited to dive into anything.
The Movie DB is where I started even though there are websites dedicated to Anime. I came across it when I started building my own media server with my own collection. The metadata was correct for Anime series, so I stuck with it.
The point of discovery is to keep an open mind. I've discovered a favourite series from artwork or reading a short description of the series. At times I dive in to find information that leads me to a manga or web series episodes. Other times I discover a fandom of fans and some history from Japan.
Slice of Life is a genre that I love. I came across this while watching Super Cub, an Anime about a girl discovering freedom and herself after buying her first Honda Cub scooter. It was released in 2021 so don't judge me from my site that I only enjoy Retro Anime! There are many great current series that are not popular but I honestly prefer them.
So stay open-minded and enjoy what you find along your own journey.
